
The Minyip Bowls Club was founded in 1927. It was officially opened by the Dunmunkle Shire President Cr.Sprake in 1928. The first green was laid down at a cost off £554 .
The Minyip Croquet Club with Mrs Midgley as President was also started in 1928 with help from the Bowling Club who gave them a green and equipment. In 1956 the Minyip Ladies Bowling Club was formed with Mrs A.Drum as President.As time went by many ladies changed from Croquet to bowls and the Croquet was closed in 1972 and the lawn was turned into the 'B' green for bowling. Since its start the club has had many upgrades, the last major one, the club house built mainly with volunteer help and costing $20,500 was opened by RVBA Councillor,John Gullan in 1988. Minyip is one of the eleven clubs that goes to make up the North Wimmera Bowls Association which was inorgerated in 1983.The club season gets underway in September.There is a night bowls competition that starts in November.New members are always welcome and some club bowls are available if required
