The Lions Club of Minyip was formed in June 1959 and Chartered in October 1959 by the Lions Club of Rupanyup. The Minyip Club was club No 145, and has worked for the betterment of the town and district. Some of our project have been the beautification of the old Hospital grounds and Cemetery. We where a major supporter of the formation of the Senior Citizens Club,who opened their building debt free. We also assisted the Pre-School, Dunmunkle Lodge,Swimming Pool Primary School, Smith Park and the Lions Play ground, and assisted financially many,many other project within the district. The Club has also supported many National and International projects and disaster relief.

The royal colours of purple and gold were selected as the official colours when the association was organised in 1917. Purple stands for loyalty to friends, and for integrity of mind and heart. Gold symbolises sincerity of purpose, liberality in judgment, purity in life, and generosity in mind, heart and purse to those in need.

As well as our Business Meetings on the last Thursday of the Month we have a Dinner Meeting on the first Thursday of each month at alternate Hotels,the Club and the Commercial. Visitors are always welcome.Please contact Miliford Stores for information to book in.
